The research group focuses mainly on the production and quality control of food, with added value for the food industry as final aim. Problems or questions from the food industry therefore often are the basis of the research.

The group offers their specialised expertise and facilities through service research and covers 5 specialised labs:

• Lab for grain and feed technology with techniques to blend and mill grains and a pilot bakery
• Lab for chemical analysis
• Lab for applied mycology
• Lab for dairy technology with pilot installations for dairy production
• AgriFing with expertise on GGOs in feed and food and authenticity of food
